I am a dog. I walk along Lake Washington Boulevard with my owner often and I get thirsty. My owner can drink from a fountain but what am I suppose to do? Do I literally go jump in the lake? REALLY??!?
Here is the answer to my dog-dreams. The Kirkland Parks Foundation has partnered with Juanita Bay Veterinary Hospital to raise funds to install a new, pet-friendly drinking fountain on Lake Washington Boulevard. This fountain will have a fully-draining bowl and provide easy access to clean, safe water for pets like me.
The total price of the fountain is $3,400. The city has offered to do all the site prep and installation. THANK YOU KIRKLAND!!
There are suggested contributions levels on the right-hand side of this project page. However, if you would like to donate a different amount, just click on the “DONATE” button in the top, right-hand corner of the page and enter whatever amount you would like to give. Contributions of any size are welcome. Donors – both pets & owners – contributing $500 or more for this project will be recognized on a plaque on the water fountain.
Please consider making a donation today! WOOF!! (translated means ‘Thank you!’)
All site preparation and installation is provided by the City of Kirkland.
UPDATE (FEB22): Excess funds raised will go toward a bronze plaque recognizing donors who gave $500 or more to this project.
UPDATE: OCTOBER 26
The pet-friendly fountain and signage has officially been completed. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Please head down toDavid Brink Park to check it out.
UPDATE: FEBRUARY 11
Two generous donors have graciously offered to match $1 for every $1 donated up to $650. If this program is fully taken advantage of, the total amount raised will get us to our goal by the end of February for a new pet-friendly fountain at David Brink Park.
